Billing, step by step

How your first visit is billed

Nothing on this list is a surprise. Each step says what you will be asked and what you will be given.

  1. 01

    Step 1: Before you book

Ask for a written estimate by phone or through the contact form. We email it with what the first visit includes and what each line costs.

  2. 02

    Step 2: At check-in

We go over the estimate with you. You pay at the end of the visit, not at check-in.

  3. 03

    Step 3: In the room

Your doctor talks with you, examines you and explains any care they recommend. If that care adds to the estimate, they tell you the cost before it begins and you decide.

  4. 04

    Step 4: At checkout

You pay by card, cash or check. HSA and FSA cards work like any other card. You leave with an itemized receipt, printed or emailed.

  5. 05

    Step 5: Afterward

Keep the receipt. If your plan reimburses any of it, the plan decides, and you send the receipt to your plan. Call us if it needs more detail.

HSA and FSA

A receipt your plan administrator can read

Pay with an HSA or FSA card, and take home a receipt that lists everything your plan administrator may ask for. Your plan decides what it reimburses.

We take an HSA or FSA card the way we take any card. We do not bill your plan, so the receipt is the record you send it.

What the receipt lists

  • The date of the visit and your doctor's name

  • Each service, with its fee

  • The amount you paid and how you paid it

  • The practice's name and address

Questions about fees and a first visit

What happens at my first visit?

You talk with your doctor, then have an exam. If your doctor recommends it, you may have a first adjustment the same day. A first visit takes about 45 minutes. You leave with an itemized receipt and a plan for what comes next.

Do you take my insurance?

We do not bill insurance plans. We are a cash practice, so you pay at the visit and keep an itemized receipt. How fees work explains what you get in writing.

I do not use insurance. What do I get in writing?

A written Good Faith Estimate before your first visit, the cost of any recommended care before it begins, and an itemized receipt after every visit. A plan may reimburse part of a receipt, and the plan decides.

Is chiropractic care safe?

Every kind of care has risks. Soreness after an adjustment is common and usually short. Rare serious problems have been reported after neck adjustments, so your doctor explains the risks before any neck adjustment, and you can say no to any part of a visit. If you have a sudden severe headache or neck pain, new weakness or numbness, chest pain, or loss of bladder or bowel control, call 911 or see a physician first.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please call us as early as you can if you need to change a visit. Ask the front desk about our cancellation policy.
